The Australian Institute of Dermatology provides a series of online courses for General Practitioners, Dermatology and Pathology Trainees and Specialists in other disciplines in all facets of skin diseases. It's Membership  course in Dermatology including previous iterations has been running for 10 years and in that time has taught  many doctors both in Australia and Overseas to become proficient in the diagnosis and treatment of the most commonly seen skin diseases. Candidates who pass the Membership course are then able to access the Institute's Advanced Course in Surgery, Dermatoscopy and Dermatopathology and go on to take it's Fellowship Course See www.aideducational.com

Please note that participation in the Australian Institute of Dermatology's courses does not lead to a regulated higher education award under the TEQSA Act. The Institute's courses are intended as professional development courses only. The courses are aimed at existing medical professionals who seek to increase their proficiency in diagnosing and treating skin diseases in their general or specialist practice and are both practical and cost effective when compared to many others in this field.

Information on Courses

The Australian Institute of Dermatology runs a 3 year course which educates you to a level of expertise in the diagnosis and management of skin diseases such that you can handle most skin presentations without the help of a Specialist Dermatologist. This is particularly useful for doctors working in rural areas of Australia or in outer city areas poorly serviced by Specialist Dermatologists. In year 1 you take the AID Membership  Course. If you pass this you are invited to take the Advanced Surgical Course which runs over one year. It covers Specialist Medical Dermatology, Dermatopathology, Dermatoscopy, Derm Surgery and Cosmetic Dermatology. If you pass the Advanced Course you are invited to take the Fellowship course. Full details of these courses can be found using the Links below.
